Magnetic components and drives

Engineered from the core out

PROTON MAGNETICS LLC develops electromagnets, transformers, inductors, servo drives and magnetic materials for electronics and industrial equipment.

Five product lines, one discipline

Every line starts with the same question: how much flux, where, and at what loss. Pick a line to see what it covers.

Electromagnets

Wound-core magnets that produce a controlled field only while current flows. Core geometry, winding and duty cycle are developed together so the pull force arrives where the application needs it.

Common applications

  • Holding and lifting in industrial equipment
  • Actuators, solenoids and locking mechanisms
  • Test fixtures and laboratory setups

From requirement to a part you can build

Development runs in four stages. Each one ends with something you can review before the next begins.

  1. Define the magnetic problem

You share the electrical requirements, space envelope, operating environment and the equipment the part goes into.

  2. Design the magnetic circuit

Core, material, winding and drive electronics are worked out together, so no single part is optimised at the cost of the others.

  3. Prototype and test

Prototypes are built and measured against the requirements agreed in the first stage, then refined where results fall short.

  4. Prepare for production

The finished design is documented so it can move into manufacturing and into your equipment.

Who we work with

Technology companies

Teams building electronics that need magnetic components designed for their board, enclosure and power budget rather than taken off a shelf.

Industrial manufacturers

Makers of machines and equipment that depend on electromagnets, transformers and servo drives running reliably under real load.

B2B partners

Businesses that integrate magnetic parts or drives into their own products and need a development partner in the United States.
